Quaint family owned efficiency rustic cabin in West Gouldsboro on the Schoodic Peninsula in Downeast Maine. It is located on a quiet cove of Jones Pond, a 467 acre pond suitable for boating, swimming & fishing. Explore the pond in a canoe or rowboat or kayaks provided for your use. Bring your clothes & groceries and get ready to enjoy a relaxing &/or adventurous vacation, your choice! Read, play games, do puzzles, watch local TV & DVDs/videos. One floor: 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 2 twins), both connecting to bathroom (old fashioned claw foot tub w/ shower); kitchen (washer & dryer & clothesline outside door, full refrigerator , toaster & microwave ovens, stove/oven, coffee pots, crock pot, etc.), dining area, living room with propane fireplace. 2 cell phone towers within 1/4 mile: AT&T and US Cellular. Wi-fi available on site. Small boat landing area with dock for canoes/boats/kayaks. Enjoy sunrise over the pond, sunset over the bay. Relax/dine bug-free outside in the screened gazebo. Watch for loons , Canada geese, blue herons, and bald eagles from this pond side retreat. Away from the crowds yet close to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor & MDI at off-island prices!

Getting around

You will need a car. Acadia National Park normally provides free in- park Island Explorer bus service on the Schoodic Point section as well as on Mount Desert Island, and encourages Park N Ride. Bicycling- you can flag down an Island Explorer bus if you grow weary of pedaling. Passenger ferry runs from Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor Memorial Day to Columbus Day

The owner lives less than 1/2 mile from the cabin and is available most days, and 24/7 by phone . She will greet/meet you on your arrival day, or shortly thereafter. She can be as involved as you would like, from guiding a paddle on the pond to simply giving suggestions/directions.

- No loud music, parties, disruptive noise i.e. fireworks of any kind
