Description

This beautiful waterfront Vashon Island Craftsman cottage is just steps from the Vashon ferry terminal and located at the beginning of the historic bunker trail. Enjoy a break from the city life and be mesmerized by the waves crashing on the bulkhead during high tide.

With 150 foot of waterfront beach access discover the red sea cucumbers, purple shore crabs, starfish, aggregating anemone and more during low tides. If the time is right, you might be able to see bald eagles flying overhead, view a couple of the local otters venturing into the water, or even catch a glimpse of an Orca or two.

The home has two bedrooms, outside deck/patio, fully furnished, all amenities and washer/dryer are available. Free WiFi, Comcast Cable, HDTV, DVD player and Xbox w/ misc games. There is a full sectional couch in the living room. Parking for 2-3 cars is available. The property is a 5-minute walk from the North Ferry dock if you want to park in downtown Seattle or Fauntleroy area.

Driving into town at Vashon is just 5 miles up the road. There is city bus transportation into town right at the terminal entrance.

** Note: There is a large bank of stairs (53 stairs) from the garage at the top of the road down to the house so it is not suitable for people with mobility problems.

We have seasonal and weekend pricing. Our peak months are from May - September. During these months the rate is $200 per night Sunday - Thursday and $250 per night Friday and Saturday. Off peak we have flexibly pricing based off current demand.

How do I get to Vashon Island? The Fauntleroy to Vashon Island ferry leaves West Seattle a few times an hour and more frequently during peak commute times. You can check the Washington Ferry schedule website for time tables. The ferry ride is about 18 minutes each direction and you only pay going to Vashon and the return trip is free. You can drive a vehicle on the ferry or walk-on. There is a bus stop about 100 yards from our home if you want to go into town once on Vashon.

During the summer on weekdays only you can take the Water Taxi directly to Downtown Seattle that lets you off in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. Hours are limited so be sure to check the schedule.

House rules

Just a few house rules:

If you are a smoker, please only smoke outside on the deck and clean up your cigarette butts.

No use of the BBQ grill or fireplace.

The washer and dryer is okay to use if needed.

Wash your feet on the faucet near front door if you have beach sand on them. Do not use the tub as it backs up the water.

Please don't track sand in the house if you can avoid it. Leave wet shoes on the deck.
